What's the Escrow System?
Escrow is FiveM's built-in asset protection system. It encrypts script files to prevent unauthorized distribution while still allowing server owners to run the resource.
Can I Edit Escrowed Scripts?
Yes — partially. All configuration files, shared utilities, and open-source modules are fully accessible. You can customize the script through these files without touching protected code.
Escrowed files (typically core logic and UI bundles) cannot be modified directly.
I Have the Correct Key But Still Get Errors
- Check status.cfx.re for any ongoing Cfx.re portal or platform issues
- Verify your server license key is correct in
server.cfg - Make sure your Cfx.re license key is active (not expired or transferred) via the Cfx.re portal
- Restart your server after making changes
